Preseli blankets from Pembrokeshire have travelled almost to the end of the Earth reaching Sydney Australia. The blankets are produced by a successful partnership between the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and the Preseli graziers. One Sydney resident, Gaynor Hood, contacted the National Park Authority to convey her delight after buying a blanket in Pembrokeshire and taking it back to Australia. "It may be incredibly hot with us Down Under, but nightime temperatures can drop to freezing. And although we've got plenty of sheep of our own, the Preseli blankets are unbeatable for snuggling up and keeping warm." The fleeces are washed and spun into yarn at the Woolcount Company at Brecon before being woven into blankets at the Welsh Woollen Museum at Drefach, Newcastle Emlyn. The blankets sell for £25, £35 and £45 depending on size, and are available from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority offices in Pembroke Dock, or from the Newport Tourist Information Centre.
