Clyde Briggs, area representative for Open Doors, was special guest at the sixth 'Prayer for the Suffering Church' meeting on Tuesday, which was hosted in by Kings Christian Fellowship in the Courthouse, Narberth.

Using striking photographs taken on his recent visit bringing Bibles into China, Clyde spoke about growth and dedication of the church in the controlling country where there is only a pretence of religious freedom. He described the risks of being an itinerant evangelist where secret police abound, a young woman can be imprisoned for writing hymns and the teaching of Christianity to children is prohibited.

Once again the meeting contained representatives and leaders from churches all over South Pembrokeshire. There was a bumper attendance and many joined in the prayers for China, Pakistan and some of the modern heroes of the faith. Offerings and sales resulted in over £250 being given to Open Doors and in excess of £130 raised towards a Release International project for prisoners in Pakistan.

This was the last meeting before Christmas; the next event will take place in late January. Look for press releases or telephone Peter and Lynda Richmond on 01646 681805 nearer the time.
