Members of Narberth and Whitland Round Table have set a challenge this week to all local residents, businesses and organisations to take part in their annual pram push.

One of the highlights of Narberth Civic Week, the ever-popular pram push being held on Wednesday night, always attracts large and appreciative crowds, who cheer the teams on as they dash around the town with some colourful costumes and the strangest contraptions.

This year, Tablers are inviting as many people as possible to join in the fun of the event, which will be raising money for the Air Ambulance and other local charities, to ensure a bumper number of participants.

There is still plenty of time to create your 'pram' and fancy dress gear and entry forms are available from Haulfryn in High Street.

The prize money has been increased this year, with £75 up for grabs for the fastest men and women's team, while in the fancy dress competition there is £75 on offer for the winners, £50 for second place and £30 for third spot. The awards will also include wine and beer prizes.

Added to the entertainment, a jazz band will be performing, giving the event a real party atmosphere. There will also be side stalls and refreshments.

The fun starts from 6 pm at the Town Clock.

This will be the Tablers' second event for Civic Week, the first being the 'world famous' grass track racing at Rushacre, Redstone Road, on Tuesday, from 6 pm, and all spectators are welcome.
