The appearance of Tenby's historic buildings has been praised by holidaymakers in a letter to the town council.
Correspondence came before members of the council at their meeting on Tuesday night from John and Pauline Heath, of Hertfordshire, who had visited the town recently.
They stated that they were pleasantly surprised at the amount of effort the council and people of Tenby had put into the appearance of the town.
"We have visited a number of other seaside resorts around the country in the last few years and have been saddened by the site of tired buildings and lack of facilities that have resulted from the lack of both enthusiasm and available funds in these austere times," they wrote.
"Tenby, even on a dull and rain threatened day, was a pleasure to walk around and the people of the town were friendly and welcoming," added the letter.
Clr. Mike Evans said that the quality of the town's old buildings restored to their former glory showed from the praise in the letter.
"We do take pride in Tenby of taking care of our historic buildings," added the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.
