There was praise this week for Pembrokeshire County Council's 'quick and efficient work' to re-cobble Tenby's Crackwell Street, which re-opened on Tuesday after a major pipe-laying scheme. "They've done a very good job, without causing any major problems for residents," said Clr. Michael Evans at a meeting of the town council. Emergency works are also being carried out at the rear of Crackwell Street, where a number of rock slides have occurred recently from the cliffs above the North Beach promenade. The work includes lopping some of the trees at a location behind the Royal Victoria Court flats, and Clr. Evans remarked: "It's work that Tenby council has being calling for for some time, so it's ideal that PCC can carry this out hand in hand." Work to prevent the rock slides will also comprise of rock bolting and the meshing of a section of unstable cliff. The affected section of promenade will be closed for the duration of the work, which is estimated to last three weeks.
