A pre-Christmas community crime prevention initiative has been launched this week.

Thanks to the support of local business, Tool Trader in Narberth, the Pembrokeshire division of the Dyfed Powys Police Force have been able to purchase, at cost, 10 tool boxes containing bicycle postcoding equipment.

With bikes again proving a popular gift this year, not only for children, but adults as well, police are urging not only Santa, but other present-buyers to ensure that bikes are postcoded when they make their purchase as a security measure.

The tool boxes have been distributed to all police stations in the division and any bike supplier who would like to borrow the set to stamp the buyer's postcode before it leaves the shop is asked to contact their local station.

Seen with PC Max Bevan postcoding one bike ready to be picked up by Santa is Tool Trader proprietor, Richard Hawkins, and staff members, Martin and Ian Clark.
