With the General Election less than a month away, a reminder has been issued that postal votes are available to anyone included on a register of electors. Those who prefer to vote by post instead of going to a polling station can apply for a form. All postal vote applications must be received by no later than 5 pm on Tuesday, April 26, which is also the deadline for proxy votes whereby someone can be nominated to vote on your behalf. Application forms for both postal and proxy votes are available from The Electoral Registration Officer, Elections Unit, 8 High Street, Haverfordwest, SA61 2EP. The telephone number is 01437 775714/5. The unit is open weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm. • The count for the Preseli Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire parliamentary constituencies will be held at Cedar Court, Milford Haven. • The Preseli Pembrokeshire constituency will have 75 polling stations, with 70 in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire. • They will be open from 7 am until 10 pm on General Election day, Thursday, May 5. • Nominations for both constituencies close at 4 pm on Tuesday, April 19.
