A rural post-box has been destroyed after a lit rocket firework was thrown into it.

The front of the box was blown off in the incident on Friday on the B4314 at Glanrhyd between Princes Gate and Tavernspite.

It occurred around 9.45 pm as a large bang was heard at this time by witnesses.

Police are appealing for information about anyone seen acting suspiciously around the area of the post-box which is located on the juction leading to Glanrhyd.
