SPAN - the lively arts promoting group, turn their attention to classical music for the summer solstice on Thursday, June 21.
They are delighted to present the very popular Archaeus String Quartet to play a diverse programme of music by Haydn, Dvorak, and York Bowen.
The Archaeus Quartet have become the favourite chamber group to play in Narberth and this will be their fourth visit to the Queen's Hall.
Originally formed in 1990, the Archaeus String Quartet have travelled the UK performing well loved classics and the music of living composers, some of which are available on CD. They have had many broadcasts on Radio 3 and Classic FM, and besides performing at festivals and arts centres, the members coach chamber music at Trinity College, London, and have recently launched their own chamber music course in the Channel Islands.
Always prefacing their performances with a short introduction to the music and composer, the quartet have made great music accessible to many who might not otherwise get to hear it performed with such skill and style.
The performance at the Queen's Hall will be preceded by optional refreshments provided by East West Cuisine. Doors open at 7.30 pm and tickets are available from the Queen's Hall on (01834) 861212.
