Saundersfoot and District Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal organiser, Mr. Malcolm Quinn, would like to thank everyone who helped to raise the great total of £3,769.69 for the 2004 appeal. Many people gave so generously of their money and especially of their time for this very worthy cause. "The funds from the Poppy Appeal not only help the survivors and their families of the two World Wars, but also those involved in the more recent conflicts, and with the turmoil still continuing in Iraq and other areas, the need is ongoing and very relevant," said Mr. Quinn. "Greatest thanks go to the door-to-door collectors who braved the elements at such an inclement time of year and gave invaluable service," he added. Some of the valiant band have been helping for over 20 years and it doesn't get any easier for them. If there is anyone who can help, please contact Mr. Quinn, on 811080, as has been said before, it's a job with no pay, only a warm feeling inside.
