Sir, Saundersfoot Community Council is joining with the Saundersfoot District Poppy Appeal organiser, Mr. Malcolm Quinn, to make a desperate plea for help. Mr. Quinn is leaving the area imminently and the local Poppy Appeal is therefore in dire need of an organiser. This is such a worthwhile cause; surely there is someone out there who could take on the not too onerous task of ordering and distributing the poppies and the very satisfying job of collecting in and adding up the proceeds. There is already a well set up infrastructure of house to house collectors. Please don't let them down - they only need supplying with poppies and they will bring in the cash. It is even possible to enlist help from the various service cadet organisations. If a volunteer is soon forthcoming, the present Poppy Appeal organiser will be available to explain the process, but if not, the Saundersfoot district will have to be divided up between adjacent areas and no one will have the satisfaction of knowing what the district collection has amounted to in this and future years. If anyone is at all interested in assisting could they please contact the clerk to the community council, Mr. John Griffiths (813209) or Mr. Malcolm Quinn (811080) and put themselves in the way of achieving the great satisfaction that comes from helping out where the need is greatest - for the benefit of those who have already given all they can for the rest of us.
Clr. Don Poole, Chairman, Saundersfoot Community Council.
