Saundersfoot is in for the second-coming this Easter, as Monty Python's religious satire 'Life of Brian' comes to town.

The popular community cinema group Films4Tenby host regular pop-up events in South Pembrokeshire called 'Rooms With a View'.

After several screenings in Tenby and Manorbier last year, this Easter they are heading to Saundersfoot after being offered the opportunity to host a film-screening in a disused church.

"It's not often you are given the chance to show whatever you would like in a church setting," said Films4Tenby organiser Jane Merrony. "It just seemed an irresistible chance to share something that was once considered so controversial. And with it being Easter, what could be better?"

Monty Python's The Life of Brian was accused of being blasphemous when it was released in 1979, and banned from being shown in some countries, including many parts of the UK. Written and starring the comedy troupe Monty Python, the film tells the story of Brian Cohen, a young Jewish man who is born on the same day as Jesus Christ and gets mistaken for the Messiah.

The Thomas Memorial Congregational Church (opposite Frosts Hardware) is the venue this Easter. The former church has been bought by local developers, Jeremy and Nigel Beynon. All of the original features remain, and film-goers will be able to sit on the pews and see the film played out above the altar.

The group is also putting on a children's movie screening earlier in the day, with special Easter-themed snack-packs on sale. 'How to Tame Your Dragon' is a 2010 animation which centres on a hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons. But when he becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, learns to realise there may be more to the creatures than he had realised.

'How To Tame Your Dragon' will be at 2 pm on Thursday, April 17, at the Thomas Memorial Congregational Church. Tickets £3. 'Life of Brian' will be at the same venue on the same day at 8 pm. Tickets £5. Tickets available via the website: http://www.films4tenby.wordpress.com">http://www.films4tenby.wordpress.com
