Pembrokeshire Conservatives have launched their campaign for the upcoming council elections.

With 25 candidates standing across the county, they were joined by MPs Simon Hart and Stephen Crabb and AMs Paul Davies and Angela Burns as they launched their 2017 campaign outside County Hall, Haverfordwest.

The Conservative manifesto for the May 4 elections includes encouraging transparency, openness and accountability in the council, maintaining the service level for refuse collection, revitalising the town centres and improving the education standard in Pembrokeshire.

Stephen Crabb MP said: “After a turbulent few years in Pembrokeshire County Council, these elections allow the county’s residents to make their voices heard by getting out and voting.

“This is one of the strongest teams of Conservative candidates we’ve fielded in Pembrokeshire, and I urge all residents to get out and vote on May 4.”

South Pembrokeshire MP Simon Hart said: “Wherever I go I hear that people want to see some fresh faces on Pembrokeshire County Council and we are fielding a fantastic team of candidates.

“May 4 is going to be your chance to shake things up a bit in County Hall, so please take the opportunity and make sure you vote.”

Paul Davies AM said: “The local elections in May offers the people of Pembrokeshire an important opportunity to have their say on issues facing their local community. Decisions taken at County Hall have a huge impact on our lives in Pembrokeshire - on everything from schools, to car parking, to the environment and that’s why we need strong councillors to speak up on these matters.

“Pembrokeshire Conservatives are fielding a fantastic group of local candidates up and down the county, who are working hard to win your vote this May. This is your chance to make a change and I urge you to make sure you’re heard on May 4.”

Angela Burns AM added: “Pembrokeshire County Council has responsibility for matters which affect the everyday lives of residents throughout the county. We need a strong team to make the right choices and take the tough decisions.

“I feel that in the slate of candidates that we are fielding we have the right mix of experience and commitment to bring about change that is required to move Pembrokeshire in the right direction.”
