Simon Hart has welcomed news that crime has fallen by over a quarter since 2010, to its lowest ever level, according to the independent Crime Survey for England and Wales. In the Dyfed-Powys Police Force area, crime has fallen five per cent in the last five years.

Mr. Hart said: “These figures show the strength of this Government’s record in bringing crime down to its lowest ever level.

“We have to continue to build on this success by electing a Police and Crime Commissioner who will work with the Government to deliver more visible policing and better use of police resources.

“In Dyfed-Powys, crime recorded by the police has fallen by five per cent. This is good news for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire as it means our community is a safer place to live, work and raise a family.”
