Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire MS Samuel Kurtz has congratulated the country’s incoming Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Rishi Sunak MP on today’s Conservative Party leadership victory.

Mr Sunak has become leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party following a nomination process by the UK Conservative parliamentary party.

Commenting on the news, Samuel Kurtz MS said: “The past several months have been incredibly challenging. For my party yes, but most importantly, for my constituents in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire and all of us across the UK.

“I was proud to back Rishi Sunak during the summer leadership election and am delighted to see him elected leader of the Conservative Party and our Prime Minister.

“This country needs stability, unity, and a clear vision to meet the global and domestic challenges ahead of us. I believe Rishi will offer us that through his leadership.

“My focus, and that of the new Prime Minister, will be on delivering for the people of Wales and the United Kingdom.”
