WITH the County Council elections behind us, the Welsh Liberal Democrats in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire are pleased to announce their candidates for the forthcoming snap General Election on June 8.

The Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire Liberal Democrat Local Party covers four Parliamentary constituencies, including Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, where Alister Cameron has been chosen as the candidate.

Both he and Bob Kilmister, the candidate for Preseli Pembrokeshire, stood in the Welsh Assembly elections, last May.

Alistair Cameron grew up in Begelly and was educated at local schools, including Greenhill School, Tenby. He has worked in the public and private sectors and has been leader of a council. He teaches English at a further education college and is currently learning to speak Welsh.

He wants the Cleddau Bridge toll to be abolished and supports a new railway station for St. Clears. He has supported locals campaigning for Tenby Avenue Centre for adults with learning needs. He says he will fight hard for local people in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
