The latest ONS figures have revealed another increase in inflation, now at 3.8 per cent.
Under the UK Conservative Government, inflation fell to the 2 per cent Bank of England target in June 2024. Since then, the rate has nearly doubled.
Commenting, local MS Samuel Kurtz MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Energy, said:
“Labour’s economic mismanagement is hitting people in their pockets, with inflation nearly doubling since Keir Starmer took office.
“Labour’s business-taxing, debt-driven, high-spend approach is failing, with the cost of basic essentials rising for people the length and breadth of Wales.
He added that the Welsh Conservatives “would drive out Welsh Government inefficiency and waste”, cutting the average working family’s tax by £450.
