Pembroke Neighbourhood Policing Team are focusing on underage drinking and litter this month. At their recent forum meeting, concerns were raised that there was an issue with underage drinking in the town. Residents were concerned with how the young people were getting hold of the alcohol. The team explained whenever they saw a young person in possession of alcohol they would seize it and their action is being supported by the 41 licensed premises in the Behave or Be Banned scheme in the town. However, it was agreed that a meeting would be held with shops that sell alcohol. PCSO Dave Powell said: "We are also appealing to parents not to provide their young people with alcohol and to make sure their alcohol supply is not available to their children. "It is illegal to supply young people with alcohol. Drinking alcohol at a young age can result in health problems or them coming to our attention because of anti-social behaviour or lack of judgment." The second priority for the team is tackling the issue of broken glass and rubbish on the footpath at Bush Hill. The team will speak to Pembrokeshire County Council about getting bins in the area and also speak to the school about pupils leaving the premises at lunchtime, as it is believed they may contribute to the litter problem. The Pembroke Neighbourhood Policing Forum is held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm at Pembroke Town Hall.
