National strike action has been called by the police staff union Unison regarding changes to the Local Government Pension Scheme. The action is to take place from midnight on Monday to midnight on Tuesday.
This action will involve police civilian staff across the Dyfed Powys area, contingencies will be put in place to ensure the provision of services to the public remains as unaffected as possible especially where an emergency response is required.
Dyfed Powys and Unison recognise that this is a national dispute with the ODPM and the Local Government Association (LGA) and not with Dyfed Powys Police Authority or the people of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire or Powys. Deputy Chief Constable, Mr. Barry Taylor asked for the assistance of any member of the public who needs to contact Dyfed Powys Police regarding a non emergency matter to try and consider delaying their request until the next day.
