Licensee fined
Tenby licensee, James Keith May, of the Three Mariners, St. George Street, pleaded guilty to breaches of his public entertainment licence when he appeared before magistrates in the town yesterday (Thursday).
He was accused of having too few doormen present on the night in question, while one of the doormen did not have the necessary name badge and licence on his person.
The pub's allocation demands that there should be three door persons present in the evening.
On November 2, 2002, there were only two on duty. Only 20 customers were in the premises, but this did not deter from the fact that under the guidelines of the entertainment licence, the door was short staffed.
The defendant was fined £600 and orded to pay prosecution costs of £150.
