On two days last week, Dyfed-Powys Police executed 30 search warrants throughout the force area as part of their crackdown on drug supply. Twenty-eight people were arrested and substances which were believed to be heroin, amphetamines, cannabis and magic mushrooms were seized.
These warrants were in addition to a number of successful warrants executed during the past three weeks.
Chief Inspector Mike Donovan, of the Community Safety Department, said: "I have been delighted by the public response to the 'Rat on a Rat' campaign. We have had 35 calls to Crimestoppers in a three-week period giving us information on alleged drug dealers. We have also received information given directly to local police.
"I want to reassure the public that we will take action against drug dealers to make our communities safer and help to protect our young people. I would ask the public to continue with their calls to assist us to protect them.
"All the people arrested will be offered referrals for treatment to assist them to break their drug habits. This is part of the holistic approach of our multi-agency partnership, the 'Criminal Justice Substance Misuse Scheme'. This scheme has been successful in weaning individuals off drugs and their need to commit crime to fund their drug habit."
To safeguard your community, give information on drugs dealers either to your local police or by telephoning Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
