Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road accident on an unclassified road north of Llanboidy. The tragic accident occurred at approximately 1.21 pm on Tuesday, April 4, on the Blaenwaun to Tegryn road. Two vehicles were involved, a Mercedes van and a blue Vauxhall Astra. The driver of the Astra was tragically killed. He has been named as 38-year-old Mr. Terry Gray, from the Llandysul area. The driver of the van was taken to Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen for treatment. The road re-opened at approximately 5.51 pm. Police are appealing for anyone who may have been travelling on that stretch of road, or in the area, at approximately 1.15pm that day to contact them on 0845 3302000. Footnote: Following the accident, police have confirmed that a 32-year-old from the Laugharne area has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed pending further inquiries.
