TWO leading poets were scheduled be reading their poetry to Pembrokeshire schoolchildren on National Poetry Day yesterday (Thursday). David Kitchen was reading his poetry to schoolchildren at Pembroke Dock Library, while John Row was at Haverfordwest Library. Poet David Kitchen is also an editor, storyteller, teacher and broadcaster. He has contributed to many anthologies and is the editor of anthologies from Heinemann and Oxford University Press. He is also former winner of the TES Schoolbook of the Year Award with Thin Ice. John Row, poet, storyteller, radio presenter and journalist, has performed to thousands of children and adults from rural Suffolk to Lapland. His book of poems for children 'The Pong Machine' popular and he encourages participation and a love of language in children wherever he performs.
