IF you love poetry, there are many new opportunities to share and extend your knowledge of it at Fishguard and Haverfordwest libraries. 'Poetry Allowed' and 'What Poetry!' are two exciting programmes of readings and reviews, run by Pembrokeshire County Council.
There will be opportunities to hear poets read their own work, ask questions, bring along your favourite poem to share, discuss different perceptions of poetry, and borrow poetry books from the library. 'Poetry Allowed' will be launched at Fishguard Library with Academi on September 21.
Poets David Gilbey, Graham Davies, Catherine Fisher, David Greenslade and Menna Elfyn will all be taking part in the programme, which runs until next July.
At Haverfordwest, poets David Gilbey, Nigel Jenkins, Robert Minhinnick, Fiona Sampson and Sheenah Pugh will be taking part in 'What Poetry' - which was launched earlier this year.
The first session this season took place on Tuesday (September 12), where people were appropriately invited to take along a poem to represent Autumn. All sessions are free and open to all. For more information, pick up a leaflet from your local library.
