Sir, May I once again through the medium of your columns solicit the support of the ever-generous folk of Tenby and district. The total collection goes to RAF charities which in turn support RAF, ex RAF and their needy dependants. A coffee morning in Church House tomorrow (Saturday), at 10 am, will be followed in the evening by a concert by the RAFA (W) Band in St. Mary's Church at 8 pm. This will be a rare opportunity to enjoy a well-balanced programme by a band of high quality. Wings Collection Week commences on September 10 and culminates in the Battle of Britain service in St. Mary's Church at 3 pm on September 16 (by kind permission of the vicar and church wardens), to which all are cordially invited. Calls upon RAFA and RAFBF funds are more than ever with our air forces deployed each day on war operations in the defence of freedom, and deserve our best support. Our air and ground crews gave of their best in the Battle of Britain in 1940 to good effect and their successors of today continue to do so. Please support this very worthy cause.
