Sir, As we approach the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, may I once again, through the medium of your columns, respectfully call upon the loyal generous folk of Tenby and District for their continued support. The Poppy Appeal is the lifeblood of the benevolent services of the Legion, calls upon which from surviving ex-service members of the armed forces and their dependants increase by the day. Our armed forces have served us well in the two terrible world wars, in numerous other conflicts over the past 80 years or more and continue to be heavily engaged in many war-torn parts of the world. Too many have been called upon to make the supreme sacrifice and many of those who survive still suffer as a result of their service. We are honour bound to keep faith with them all - please give generously and wear your Flanders poppy, that small emblem of remembrance, with pride. 'We will remember them'.

Wilf Hardy, President,

Royal British Legion, Tenby.
