Sir,
As we approach the 92nd Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, may I once again through the medium of your columns respectfully call upon the ever generous folk of Tenby and district for their continued support. The Poppy Appeal is the lifeblood of the benevolent services of the Legion, calls upon which, from serving, ex-service members of the armed forces, and their dependants in need, increase by the day.
Our Armed Forces have served us well in two terrible world wars, in numerous other conflicts over the past 80 years or more, and continue to do so in many war-torn parts of the world.
Too many have been called upon to make the supreme sacrifice and many of those who survived still suffer as a result of their service. We are honour bound to keep faith with them all, please give generously and wear your Flanders poppy, that small emblem of remembrance, with pride.
'We will remember them.'
Wilf Hardy,
President,
Royal British Legion,
Tenby.
