Sir,
As usual, supporters of Ironman competitors placed numerous homemade signs bearing words of encouragement to competitors along the route. This was great for the duration of the event, but not several days afterwards.
The official signs were removed very promptly, but, as last year, there are a number of scruffy hand-made signs littering the verges of the A4320 between Pembroke and Angle, and probably elsewhere along the Ironman route.
Last year, I removed some myself from the A4320 after a fortnight, but noticed them in other parts of the county for months after the event. Maybe those who placed them could be reminded to keep Pembrokeshire tidy by removing them all in the next few days.
Sandra Thompson,
Hundleton.
