A fundraising event for young Rudy Cole is being held at Kilgetty Sports and Social Club this Sunday, from 2 pm onwards.
As well as popular ’50s, ’60s and ’70s music by Caz B, there will be an auction and raffle, to help raise funds to provide brave Rudy with a much-needed trike to help him get around.
Rudy’s Trust Fund has been set up to help assist with some of the therapy costs and specialist equipment that Rudy will need throughout his life.
Rudy was born with multiple hemangiomas, a very rare form of benign tumours filled with blood on his face, body and in his brain. Unfortunately, at just one week old, the hemangiomas in Rudy’s brain bled and left him fighting for his life.
A determined little Rudy thankfully pulled through, but he has been left with considerable damage to his brain. He has right-sided hemipareisis, very low muscular tone, poor vision and global development delay. He also suffers from very difficult to control epilepsy, and has been having between eight and 12 siezures every day for the last 22 months which leave him exhausted and hinder his development.
Rudy is currently on a special ketogenic diet to try and reduce his seizures, neurologists at Great Ormond Street Hospital are investigating his epilepsy.
So please help him and buy a raffle ticket for your chance to win an Apple i pod touch, wine, chocolates etc.
