Sir, On Thursday, April 17, around 2 pm, whilst walking onto South Beach, my five-year-old daughter Amelia lost her most favourite and loved toy, Chow, a beanie baby like a cuddly Siamese cat. My daughter noticed within 10 minutes of being on the beach that he had gone, so after scouring for over two hours and asking people on the beach and in shops and cafés, there was no sign of him anywhere! Amelia was distraught and is still devastated that her best pal has gone. Chow went everywhere with her, even ballet, and was always part of every game she played; he even had his own outfits that Amelia bought with pocket money in a Build a Bear shop. If you look through pictures, he is always tucked under her arm. We have left our telephone numbers with cafés and shops at South Beach and Castle Beach ends. As much as we would love to have her reunited with him, we cannot even find a replica as a replacement. I have contacted ASDA (which is where we have been told he was bought), but they cannot give us suppliers details due to the data protection act, so we have really hit a wall and come to the end of the line with ideas. Apart from finding a toy-maker! Please could you publish this to help Amelia and Chow be reunited. A very hopeful Mum.
Hayley Hayes,
Cardiff.
