Sir,

There have been sightings of silly/party string on sale in some shops in Narberth this week. This could put the carnival parade in jeopardy.

Civic Week could not get a marching band this year due to the amount of string used last year.

We had hoped that the businesses and people of Narberth would all really support us in the ban, but reports of this string on sale in town have upset the committee and they are looking in to what can be done for all involved in the parade.

Quoting one of the mother's of the carnival queens and attendants: "We and others work so hard to make our town proud. Some of the children on the float are under 10 and it is not funny to be sprayed in the face. Please, please not buy it, and please not use it!"

Elizabeth Rogers, mother of children dressing up to take part, a Narberth person wanting to see a great turnout, and chair of Narberth Civic Week wanting no-one to get hurt due to this string.
