THIS year, Tenby Players are celebrating 50 years of putting on drama in Tenby. From the first production of one-act plays in 1952, the Players have presented a succession of productions of great variety - from the contrasting Welsh brilliance of Emlyn Williams and Dylan Thomas, the witty sophistication of Coward and Rattigan, and the warm hilarity of Alan Ayckbourn, to the powerful drama of Brecht and Miller, and the classics of Shaw and Shakespeare.

To mark this milestone, the Players are holding a celebration dinner with entertainment at the Park Hotel in Tenby on Saturday, November 30. Guest of honour will be Barbara Fisher, who until recently directed most of the Players' productions, and also in attendance will be president, Arthur Ormond MBE.

Invitations have gone out to all existing members of Tenby Players, and some others who have been members, but have recently retired. However, chairman Hilary Harvey is concerned that there may be other people who have contributed to the success of the Players in the past, but who have since lost touch. Anyone of that ilk, or indeed anyone who would like to join the celebrations, is asked to contact treasurer Lesley Rochford on (01834) 811573.
