A lottery funded play project that runs across the county, needs more support in Tenby, local councillors were told this week.
The 'Purple Routes Play Project' is a BIG Lottery funded project to provide free open access play for children and young people in both Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
The project is to encourage more children to enjoy outdoor activities and to develop new play opportunities for children across the area, with sessions held at The Glebe in Tenby on a Monday twice a month between 3.30 and 5.30 pm.
The town clerk told members at a meeting of the town council on Tuesday night that, despite the project achieving its targets across the county, the Tenby sessions were "lagging" slightly, and the project organisers may consider moving the sessions to another area of the town in the future, to see if it attracted more of a response.
Clr. Mike Evans said that the town council should write to the project organisers to see if the council could help in any way to make it more successful.
