Matters relating to Kilgetty and Begelly play parks were discussed at the most recent meeting of the Community Council.

On behalf of the Begelly Play Park Task and Finish Group, Clr. Paul Wyatt told his fellow members that the groundworks were now completed, with a French drain being completed through the centre of the park to alleviate drainage issue.

Steps have been constructed on the entrance to the field, with a handrail to be installed later. An arborist has previously quoted for additional tree works, with the Clerk to contact them to arrange a site meeting.

On behalf of the Kilgetty Play Park Task and Finish Group, Clr. Wyatt reported that interest was sought from local trades to carry out essential power washing at the park, with work to include the cleaning of matting recycled from the Begelly park and items of play equipment in the park.

Matters appertaining to the pathway around the park, access, were also discussed, with Clr. Wyatt mentioning that it was being arranged to take drone footage of the new pathways around the Community Garden, which would be publicised with footage of the area prior to development.

Councillors had met with the contractor who conducted the work on the pathways. Clr. David Anderson reported that a plan was in place to replace the broken gateway at the rear of the gardens, and this area would be finished off with shrubs.

Clr. Adams discussed the possibility of constructing archways to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with quotations awaited for two way gates. Clr. Andersonsaid he would share proposal with the Community Association.
