Children in Narberth have had a boost this week ahead of the half-term holidays, with the introduction of new equipment at the Town Moor Play Park.

The first phase of a re-development of the existing play park was launched with two new pieces of equipment revealed for the benefit of local youngsters. These are a Comet see-saw and a Whirlwind wheel.

After consultation with the local school, the play park committee secured finances to develop the recreational facility further, with the allocation of 106 government funding, donations from Narberth Civic Week and Narberth Town Council, along with other funding.

"We are still looking for more funding to be secured so that we can develop the next phase of this wonderful worthwhile facility," said the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers.

"Costain are coming on board to do some further ground work and Pembrokeshire County Council are going to provide the Play Park with a MUGA wall for further play equipment to be introduced," she added.
