Plans for a new traffic order on one of Tenby’s streets are to be put forward to alleviate issues with turning.
Correspondence from Pembrokeshire County Council’s senior traffic engineer, Ben Blake, came before members of the town council at their meeting on Tuesday, stating that the authority would shortly be advertising various waiting restriction proposals as part of a county-wide review.
“Included in the review is a proposal to provide a short length of no waiting at any time restriction on South Cliff Street at the junction with Culver Park,” wrote Mr. Blake.
“The proposal is in response to reports that parking in this region restricts the turning movement for tour buses turning right out of Victoria Street. The restrictions have been kept to a minimum and will also assist motorists turning left out of Culver Park,” he added.
The town clerk, Andrew Davies, told councillors that the issue was to try and resolve the problem of vehicles that had been unable to exit Victoria Street due to vehicles parking on the end.
“I’d have no objection if it improves the traffic flow in that area,” commented Clr. Trevor Hallett.
