A LOCAL musician is hoping people will rally round to take part in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, to raise money for charity.
Kevin Goddard, aged 41, of Clayford Road, Wooden, has revealed plans to put on the production in aid of the Welsh children's leukaemia and cancer charity, LATCH.
He was inspired to put on the musical by his three-year-old daughter, Phoebe-Munro, who has been treated for leukaemia since last August.
He explained: "Phoebe has just had two big blocks of chemotherapy treatment and now that these are behind us, her mum Nicola and I want to do something positive to help LATCH, which is such a wonderful, caring organisation."
An accomplished rock drummer, who has played in bands and with various artists on tour and in sessions for nearly 30 years, Kevin hopes local people will take part in the production, which will raise funds for LATCH's appeal for family accommodation when it moves from Llandough Hospital to the University Hospital of Wales.
"I'm hoping that the show will start rehearsing in August and will be staged over Christmas or the New Year, so I hope to hear soon from anyone interested in taking part," he said.
Kevin, Nicola and their two sons Jacob and Robin think there is enough talent in the county to put on a successful production.
"We hope it will be a success, because it will be one way we can give something back to the people who have looked after Phoebe so well," said Kevin.
