A planning application for the construction of a wakeboarding watersports park near Narberth, was deferred this week for a site meeting.
The plans submitted by Mark Harris are for the development of the Wakeboard Cable Park, at Cott Lane, Cross Hands, with the proposals to include - a lake, clubhouse, car park, landscaping, four towers with cabling, and construction of passing bays.
Members of Pembrokeshire County Council’s planning and rights of way committee elected to defer a decision on the application at their meeting on Tuesday, so they could hold a site meeting
“The proposed wakeboarding park will be a new and innovative attraction to Pembrokeshire, that will not only significantly add to the county’s attraction as a tourist destination, but will also offer individuals and family’s an opportunity to try a new and exciting water-sport,” said Andrew Vaughan-Harries, director and principal planner at Hayston Developments and Planning Ltd.
“Cable Wakeboarding is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing water-sports with straight-line cables being built in a number of locations throughout the UK,” he added.
