Members of Tenby Town Council have backed plans for a musculoskeletal healthcare clinic to be introduced to the town.

The application (Reference: NP/26/0232/FUL) for a change of use from A3 (food and drink) to D1 (non-residential institution) for use as a private musculoskeletal healthcare clinic, at Unit 3, Supermarket Complex (alongside Sainsbury’s) on Upper Park Road came before councillors at their most recent meeting.

Whilst councillors stated that they were disappointed in a loss of retail a unit, they stated that retail businesses have failed in that location in the past.

Members agreed it would be good to have the space utilised and diversification may last longer. They emphasised though that they do not want to see empty units in the town.

All councillors were in favour of recommending approval for the plans.

Their views will be passed onto the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, who will determine the application.
