Councillors in Tenby have again asked for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority to tighten up on their planning policies, when it comes to retrospective applications in the town.

Discussing two applications at their meeting on Tuesday night - one for the erection of a summerhouse in the back garden at a property in Oakridge Acres, and the other for a dormer window to the front elevation of a premises on Narberth Road - members of Tenby Town Council recommended approval of the plans, but reiterated that it did make it difficult for them to make a decision.

“It makes you wonder why these plans are being put to us in a retrospective manner, is it because they have been reported or objected to?” commented Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.

“These planning applications shouldn’t really be happening retrospectively, and these applicants should be dealt with,” agreed Clr. Will Rossiter.

“We’re not opposing these particular applications, but the National Parks really need to tighten up on this and I’d like to let them know of our concerns,” added Clr. Mrs. Lane.
