The area surrounding Tenby’s recently refurbished leisure centre is in need of an urgent upgrade, a local councillor pointed out this week.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Tony Brown said that people had approached him to see if something could be done about the missing environs outside the facility situated on Marsh Road.

“They did a fantastic job in refurbishing Tenby’s leisure centre facilities, but on the left hand side of the overflow car park, part of the fence has been missing for some time and nothing has replaced it,” he explained.

“The grass hasn’t been cut and an old caravan that is falling apart had also been dumped there. Locals say they have been contacting Pembrokeshire County Council about the fence for the past eight months, and not even had a response about it.

“It’s been like this since February, and getting worse and worse. We have a lovely new looking leisure centre, but yet that part looks like a tip,” added Clr. Brown.

The town clerk said that he would write to the county council about the situation.
