Hywel Dda Health Board is pressing ahead with the closure of Tenby Hospital's minor injuries service.

Plaid Cymru Mid and West AM Simon Thomas said: "Plaid Cymru believes the closure of Tenby Hospital's minor injuries unit is an admission of failure by the Hywel Dda Health Board management. They have not recruited sufficiently in Withybush. This will no doubt lead to more people going straight to the Accident and Emergency in Withybush Hospital and putting increased pressure on the service there.

"There are many problems that GPs can deal with, but the fact is that surgeries aren't always open late. The Welsh Government has failed to increase opening hours in Pembrokeshire."

The closure date for Tenby hospital's minor injuries service is to be confirmed.
