Nerys Evans is the Plaid candidate on top of the Mid and West Wales regional list for the Assembly elections in May.
Born on March 22, 1980, in Llangain, Carmarthen, she was educated at the University of Manchester, where she gained a BA in Government and Political Theory, and at Cardiff University, where she obtained an Msc in Welsh Politics. Nerys is currently political officer for Plaid Cymru in the National Assembly, covering education and lifelong learning, culture and constitution. She was previously organiser for Plaid in Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, campaign manager for Plaid, Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, Assembly election 2003, and press officer for Plaid Carmarthenshire County Councillors. Her political interests include constitutional affairs, rural affairs, workers rights, the Welsh language and voter apathy.
Her hobbies are supporting Llanelli Scarlets, trade union activities, playing the saxophone and piano, and the arts. The other candidates on the Mid and West list are David Senior (Montgomeryshire), Liz Delyth Richards (Ammanford) and Liz Saville Roberts (Merion Dwyfor).
