On a beautiful evening last Friday, a spring concert was held at the chapel in aid of the HOPE Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, Neyland. The Neyland Ladies Choir, under the direction of their conductor, Lynne Kelleher, gave a wonderful programme of music covering many different genres.

The audience were transported from the home town of Neyland to the West End stage, through the Welsh valleys to the town of Seville in Bizet's opera, Carmen. They were entertained with the added touches of drama portrayed and were also delighted to meet Alan, the choir mascot, who was suitably dressed in his tour finery.

The choir was tunefully accompanied by Mr. Peter Griffiths. Supporting artistes for the evening were Stuart Evans (soloist) and Sophie Adams (soloist), who gave lovely renditions from their repertoire.

Making a debut appearance, The Pisgah Chapel Singers, who even rivalled mascot Alan's outfit with their smart attire, and harmoniously sang a hymn of devotion, were trained and accompanied by Val Evans.

After a welcome by the minister of Pisgah, Pastor David Gooding, the compere for the evening, Clr. Mrs. Margaret Brace, who is fundraising co-ordinator for the HOPE centre, introduced the programme, which also included a short talk on the work at the HOPE centre by chairman, Mr. Ken Brombley.

Following an uplifting evening of song, the choir and friends were treated to some well-deserved refreshment by the ladies of Pisgah. Our thanks to all who supported this event.

PYSH Club will meet this evening at 7.30 pm in the schoolroom.

On Sunday, Pastor Gooding will conduct the morning and evening service when the Lord's Supper will be shared. Sunday School choir practice will commence at 10.30 am in the schoolroom, while the adult choir will meet following the evening service. Choir practice will again be held on Tuesday evening, at 7.30 pm, with the weekly coffee morning taking place on Thursday morning from 10.30 am - 12 noon. Friends in the area are most welcome to come along.
