Last Sunday morning the service was taken by the Rev. L. Mitchell, Milford Haven.
The evening service was taken by the pastor, Rev. Phylip Rees. This was his farewell service before he leaves for his new ministry at Tredegarville Baptist Chapel, Cardiff.
During the service, presentations were made to the Rev. and Mrs. Rees.
The secretary, Mrs. Doris James, spoke of the exceptional dedication of the Rev. Rees to his ministry at Pisgah, and of how highly he was thought of by his members. Thanks were also given to Mrs. Rees for her work in the church, and the great support she had given to her husband.
Mr. Maurice Cole, treasurer, also spoke of the hard work put in by the Pastor to the church during his six years.
Mrs. Amy Griffiths, a senior member of the chapel, then presented the Rev. and Mrs. Rees with their chosen gift of a pair of silver candelabra, suitably inscribed from the church at Pisgah. Mrs. Rees was also presented with a beautiful arrangement of flowers.
The Rev. Phylip Rees suitably responded to these presentations.
Mrs. Janice Scourfield, on behalf of the Ladies Fellowship, presented Mrs. Rees with a gold bracelet. This was followed by Mr. Maurice Cole presenting a cheque to the Rev. Rees from members and friends of Pisgah.
The service closed with the congregation singing the well-known hymn 'God be with you will we meet again'.
So came to an end a ministry of a Pastor who was dearly loved and highly regarded by his members, and of his wife who also was thought of with love and affection. They will be greatly missed by his members at Pisgah.
Afterwards, refreshments were served in the schoolroom, when again the ladies excelled themselves with the wonderful display of food. Fond farewells were said, and many signs of affection shown. Rev. and Mrs. Rees are wished God's blessing in their new ministry in Cardiff.
This Sunday morning, July 6, Mr. John Davies, Pembroke Dock, will take the service. There will be no evening service due to anniversary services at Cold Inn Baptist Chapel.
Sunday school at Pisgah will be at 2.30 pm.
The weekly coffee morning is held every Thursday from 10.30 am - 12.30 pm.
