PINT-sized Plays - the Pembrokeshire based international writing competition has received a record number of entries in this its third year.

Nearly 200 entries were received, of which there were dozens from US and Australian playwrights. The plays - each between five and 10 minutes long - will be performed in pubs in Pembrokeshire, starting Tenby Festival week.

The 10 winners will then be performed together in a Script Slam at Theatr Gwaun on October 9, when the audience will be able to vote for their favourite script.

All the scripts have now been judged by theatre director Phil Clark, who has announced the winners, which are:

'After the Ball' by Maggie Stevens from Essex; 'Award Winning Entry' by Jeff Neuman from the USA; 'Bon Appetit' by Mya Edwards from Guernsey; 'Grounded' by Richard Cook from Pembrokeshire; 'I Know What You're Thinking' by David Wells from Pembrokeshire; 'Raise it Like Ryan' by Amanda Bannon from Lancashire; 'The Lady and the Tyger' by Trace Crawford from the USA; 'The Lock In' and 'The Pail of Water Case' both by Doc Watson from Bath; and 'Where Dreams are Made' by Alison Shelton from Yorkshire.

This year, all 10 winners will also be considered for production at the Brighton Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. As in previous years, many of the plays will be recorded as radio plays too and broadcast on an internet radio station.
