Proposals for a new pier and pontoon at Tenby Harbour have been withdrawn by Pembrokeshire County Council.
The application submitted by the authority for the construction of a pedestrian pier bridge and pontoon on the north side of the outer pier of the harbour, has currently been withdrawn, clerk Mr. Andrew Davies told Tenby town councillors at their meeting on Tuesday night.
The plans were brought before members of the town council at a meeting in November, with the majority in favour of the application, despite the Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, expressing reservations over the proposals and his colleague Clr. Will Rossiter describing the application as a "crazy plan".
Correspondence before the town council on the matter from Tenby Sailing Club, also suggested that the proposals would not work for a number of reasons.
