Local councillors have said they would be interested in receiving a presentation on a 'smartphone' app that would give local businesses and shops the chance to promote themselves over a phone friendly format.
At Tuesday night's meeting of Tenby Town Council, members received correspondence from the developers behind the Big Local App South West Wales, who said that the project was preparing to launch in July and that they were looking to work with town councils and local chambers of trade to actively promote the 'shop local' message.
Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane said that it sounded like a good, well-established idea and that she would be keen to see a presentation on the project.
Clr. Mike Evans said that it seemed the app was slightly different to the Tenby Smart Town project the town council had recently received a presentation on, in that it was more aimed towards the shopping market.
The Mayor added that she would be keen for the project developers to meet with the town council and that it might be beneficial to invite the Chamber of Trade along too.
