A petition objecting to a planning application by ADR Manorbier to commence firing during the hours of darkness has been handed in to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. Sixty-nine-year-old Gerry Phillips (pictured left), of Dewing Avenue, Manorbier, is seen presenting the petition to Ifor Jones, head of the authority's conservation.

Mr. Phillips visited 104 houses on the Skrinkle Estate and collected 93 signatures from residents and concerned parents objecting in the strongest possible terms against the MOD application on the grounds of noise nuisance/pollution and the health and wellbeing of the younger generation of their community.

Footnote: A public meeting to discuss the application is also to be called, to which all interested and involved bodies are to be invited.
