Peter Kidney is pleased to announce that his charity swim in aid of Angle Lifeboat Station is now taking place on Sunday, September 4 (writes D.B.).
Our apologies for having to cancel this event twice previously owing to adverse weather conditions.
Peter, an experienced open water swimmer, will be swimming from Hook to Hobbs Point, leaving Hook at 10 am, arriving at Hobbs Point approximately three hours later.
Pembroke Haven Yacht Club are holding a barbecue, also in aid of Angle Lifeboat Station, for Peter’s arrival, perfectly coinciding with the yacht club’s annual RNLI race day.
Local band, The Krooks, of Hundleton, are playing at the afternoon event, donating their time again for the RNLI.
The barbecue and clubhouse will be open at noon, at Pembroke Haven Yacht Club, Hobbs Point.
Peter has had terrific support and encouragement from Angle Lifeboat Station, his friends, business associates and relatives.
Peter’s safety boat escort will be volunteered by Angle Lifeboat crew member, mechanic and training officer, Rich Bowles, in his own RIB, a priceless gesture.
Therefore, all funds raised on Sunday, September 4, by Peter’s Cleddau swim and the yacht club’s race day, will go to Angle Lifeboat Station.
You can sponsor Peter on the day or by ringing his mobile 07968 315 350 or home (01834) 870135.
Peter and the yacht club’s sailors value the free rescue 24/7 service provided by the RNLI and deserve a great reception from us all for such huge commitment to raise funds for the charity.
We look forward to your support on Sunday, September 4.
